  • No doubt about it, relationship experts go on and on about the benefits of parents slipping away for a little one on one time sans the kiddos.  But how do you make it work without feeling guilty?  And how do you find a reliable child care provider to trust your most precious ones with?

We asked our readers and several commented on the benefits for all involved with sneaking out and leaving the kiddo’s with the Grandparents or other family members, affording the parents much need R&R and family members much craved bonding time.

What about those of us without family nearby, there’s the go to neighborhood kids looking to baby sit (ask your neighbors, check neighborhood newsletters & check with your local church or high school) and of course their are always professional childcare providers.   We’ve had wonderful success with Care.com, a paid referral service that provides background checks for selected candidates.   Another option to think about a date doesn’t have to be dinner and a movie, explore the options of a lunch date while the kids are in school.

Regardless of how or when you find time to slip away it is very important for Mom and Dad to stay connected.

What about you, how often do you sneak away?  What are your favorite date destinations?  Any tips for other new parents?
